KNOWLEDGE, LIFE-LONG EDUCATION AND CONTINUED QUEST for KNOWLEDGE
He who does not know can know from learning

WHO ARE the ALPHA Questers:

Alpha Quest Youth Mentoring Program is a program for young men in grades 6-12 enrolled in school within our west suburban and west Chicagoland service areas.  Our mentors promote leadership development, academic encouragement, cultural enrichment, and a plethora of other educational, career, communication, and financial education.   Each Quester is partnered with a male mentor, allowing the individual needs of every Quester to be met.

The program is designed to encourage high level performance academically from participants in all subject matters.  We strive to ensure that participants become balanced individuals in the form of their leadership capabilities and appreciation of cultural competence.

The Alpha Quest program motto is “he who does not know, can know from learning”.  Our aim is to arm the students with knowledge and encouragement to ensure they complete their journey of high level educational attainment and mature as leaders in the classroom and community.

Under the umbrella of the Alpha’s National “Go to High School, Go to College” Program, the A.Q.Y.M.P. is targeting 15-25 students between the 6th-9th grade. The program is intended to encourage academic excellence, leadership development, and cultural enrichment.

The students will be provided opportunities to dialogue with their peers and mentors as well as be exposed to activities that promote intellectual and personal growth. The three pillars of the program are:

  • Academic Support: The program concentrates on the
importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Through this program, young men receive information and learn strategies that facilitate academic success.

  • Leadership Development: Students will be encouraged to assess and articulate their strengths as it relates to leadership. Participation in activities that will motivate students to develop a mission and vision that encourages commitment and accountability.

  • Cultural Enrichment:  The focus of this program is to enhance the cultural awareness of our youth through community involvement projects, and social activities/exercises to expand their knowledge of different cultures and their customs, fostering an environment based on a mutual respect for the diversity of others.
